I. Title of Program or Issue: Making Meetings Work

A. Situational Statement: Meetings can serve to energize people, or if poorly conducted, to discourage participation. Many groups and committees have a need to make their meetings more productive. To do this, it is necessary to understand what goes into planning and conducting good meetings.

B. Description/Educational Objectives:

  • To learn to plan and conduct a productive meeting.
  • To develop skills as a meeting facilitator.
  • To learn to develop a meeting agenda.
  • To learn to evaluate a meeting and make suggestions for improvement.
  • To develop skills in parliamentary procedure.

C. Suggested Time Required for Program: 1 - 2 hours

Suggested Time of Year: Anytime

D. Audience and Level of Offering: For all audiences, county, district, statewide

E. Teaching Methods, Resources, Costs: Can attend to teach material providing travel expenses and materials are covered.
