A. Situational Statement:

The ban on yard waste from landfills is creating
a challenge for many communities. The diversity of
communities re: size, affluence, and historic
practices further heightens difficulties in
developing comprehensive waste management plans.
Many of the community composting seminars have been
held and agendas are available.

B. Description/Educational Objectives:
|
Introduce the social/political dimension of
large-scale composting
Provide a basic understanding of the science
and technology of large-scale composting
Discuss current options and management
Observe programs in place
