A. Situational Statement:

Members of public boards are often overwhelmed
with increasing public demands and often lack the
capacity to serve to their greatest potential.

B. Description/Educational Objectives:
|
To provide members of public boards with the
capacity to successfully manage their
responsibilities. The following teaching modules
are available:
- Recruitment, Retention and Training
- Successful Board Meetings
- Professional Presentations
- Financial Issues
- Funding Sources
- Strategic Planning
- Relationships

C. Suggested Time Required for Program; Time
of Year:
|
Each module requires 2 hours; Any time of the
year.
|
|
D. Audience and Level of Offering:
|
Group size: maximum - 30, minimum - 15
|
|
E. Teaching Methods, Resources, Costs:
|
Lectures, slides, overheads, handouts, videos
and group exercises are used in teaching. Costs
include copying of material and specialist travel,
plus any facility and refreshment expenses.
